GHS
Swim and Dive
Team
Reclassified
to 2A by FHSAA
During their
Spring 2009
Meetings, the
FHSAA (Florida
High School
Athletic
Association)
announced the
classification
assignments
for the
2009-10 &
2010-11 school
years.
The GHS
Swim/Dive Team
moved down
from a 3A to a
2A
classification.
We are now in
Region 2 and
District 4 of
this
classification
(see http://www.fhsaa.org/assignments/sw.htm).
This is
exciting news
for us.
This means we
are now
participating
in a District
and a Region
that is not as
deep in faster
times or
higher dive
scores.
This will
allow more
chances for
our swimmers
and divers to
advance beyond
Districts.
With our
current team
make up,
Rob and I are
VERY
optimistic of
a strong
presence at
Districts, and
hopefully
Region,
and more
opportunity to
advance our
student-athletes
to the State
meet.
